PMc Magazine

Clay and I were both featured in this month's Who Am I? section of of PMc Magazine, an online publication founded by famed
American photographer, Patrick McMullan. PMc Magazine showcases interesting people, events, and art with close ties to life
in New York City. It is an honor for both me and my talented boyfriend to be featured!
Above are screenshots of our interviews; read my full article here, and Clay's here. Thanks again to Jillian for including us!

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS

Clay and I spent the afternoon snapping photos in Brooklyn Heights, a gorgeous culturally diverse neighborhood in Brooklyn. If you're ever
in NYC, you have to take a trip to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade which is lined with beautiful rowhouses and brownstones, lush gardens,
and flanked with an amazing view of the Lower Manhattan skyline.
Zara jacket ● Asos dress ● Urban Outfitters leggings ● Le Chรขteau bag ● Aldo wedges ● MAC 'Vegas Volt' lipstick
I just picked up this MAC amplified finish lipstick 'Vegas Volt' and the bold coral hue is a welcomed change from my typical pink or red.
I'm on the hunt for some great new shades, so if you have any suggestions, let me know!

CONEY ISLAND

After what seemed like an eternity of grey skies and rain showers, we finally had an amazing sunny day in NYC, so Clay and
I ventured out to Coney Island in Brooklyn for some beach-side fun!
Can you believe this is the first pair of jeans I've bought in the past FIVE years?! Loving the '70s flare - I need more denim in this style!
H&M jacket ● Zara dress (worn as tunic) ● H&M jeans ● Aldo wedges ● Bebe hat (borrowed from Jaclyn)
We stopped for some hot dogs, fries, and lemonade at Nathan's. Yum!
It's finally spring break for FIT students, so I'm going to take advantage of my (precious) free-time and explore the city.
More photos to come; hope you all had a fantastic weekend! x Nia

WATERMELON

This skirt and top have been my go-to pieces lately (see other looks here and here) - I love the bright colors and together they make the cutest spring outfit! P.S: It seems Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere thought the same, check out her nearly identical look! Fashion blogger minds think alike...
Zara blouse and skirt ● Urban Outfitters tights ● Aldo heels ● H&M hat
I hope you're all having an amazing weekend! I'm styling and directing a fashion video this weekend for school and have been busy preparing for that project, so please excuse my absence! In the meantime, please check out some great blogs: my boyfriend, Clay at 16 MM CUT and my great friends Melody and Madelaine at 162 Greene. Let me know what you think! x Nia

School Post: New Show Formats

For this week's school post, I was instructed to highlight a new, innovative fashion show format. Although I'm late commenting on the hype of the latest Mugler (formally Thierry Mugler) menswear collection as it has already swept into popularity through the blogosphere, I can't think of a more alarming addition to fashion week than sending a zombie down the runway.
Nicola Formichetti, Creative Director of Mugler and famously the genius stylist to Lady Gaga, released his new fall men's collection title Anatomy of Change, featuring Rick "Rico" Genest as the design house's muse. Rico, now infamous for his shocking full-body tattoos including a skeletal structure and exposed brain brought next level dark drama, controversy, beauty, and seduction to the world renowned label.
See the video below for Rico's fashion week debut:

ONE DAY WITHOUT

My TOMS Dan Eldon Printed Classics

TOMS Shoes is a socially responsible company founded in 2006 by entrepreneur, Blake Mycoskie. TOMS is based off the One for One movement, where every pair of shoes purchased, another is donated to a child in need. Shoes, a necessity we often take for granted, are the most basic form of prevention for dangerous debilitating and disfiguring soil-transmitted foot diseases, including Podoconiosis. Furthermore, shoes provide safety against infection, a secure method of transportation, and a feeling of self-worth.

TOMORROW - April 5, 2011 - marks TOMS 'One Day Without Shoes' - a pledge to go one day without shoes to experience the hardships people all over the world face without this basic necessity. The purpose of the initiative is to educate consumers, family, and friends about the importance of shoes, and how YOU can help those in need

Tomorrow I plan to go without (but will have my TOMS Dan Eldon Printed Classics in tow)! Will you go without?

Check out the TOMS Press Kit the company was generous enough to send me for tons of great information on the One for One movement and One Day Without Shoes - CLICK HERE!
