NEW YEAR

My landscape has changed quite drastically since my last post; towering skyscrapers and busy streets have been replaced by empty
snow-covered fields that disappear into the horizon. I'm excited to be celebrating New Year's in Manitoba with my close family
and friends, but am thrilled to spend 2011 in my new home: New York City.

I love the pearl embellished pockets on this H&M sweater!
I'm very excited for the new year, 2011 already holds many exciting new things for me, a few of which I hope to share with you very soon! Until then, I hope you all have a safe and fun holiday - thank you so much to all my readers, your are inexplicably fabulous! xo Antonia

HOME

I safely made it to Winnipeg, and am pleasantly surprised by the great weather we're getting for this time of year (by great
I mean "warm" at -10°C/14°F)! I didn't think I'd be missing NYC so much, and it's really got me thinking about what I now consider
'home' (above is a photo taken in October near my apartment). Lots to ponder over the next few weeks, and although I am beyond excited to spend some
quality time with my amazing family, I can't help by anxiously await my return to Manhattan. You can take the girl out of NYC...

MORE LANVIN LOVE

The perfect shade of pink, short skirt with a raw hem, and voluminous one-shouldered sleeve made this Lanvin ♥ H&M piece a must for me!
My beautiful friend Jaclyn from Stepping in Stilettos gave me this frog ring as an early Christmas gift. So adorable! Go check out her blog

I haven't decided if I'm going to wear this dress to Clay's film screening tonight (it's his first short film and I'm very excited!). I'll be finishing
up exams and projects this week in NYC and then I'm flying to Winnipeg to enjoy the holidays with my family. Expect posts with lots of snow in the upcoming weeks! ~A

SPRING ZING

By now my regular readers know I'm no stranger to bold, vibrant colors, so of course I'm obsessed with this editorial,
minimalist silhouettes capture the best trends from the Spring 2011 collections.

Anyways, I should be back to regular outfit posts this weekend now that I've completed four of my six finals! I have some fun
new pieces I've been wanting to share with you guys! xoxo Antonia

APARTMENT THERAPY

Ever since I moved to NYC, I've become a self-proclaimed apartment addict. After becoming increasingly obsessed with interiors,
I now spend my time in between studies daydreaming as I compulsively rifle through interior decor mags and design blogs.
Although I'm a student on a (painfully tight) budget, I've been thinking of ways to make me and Clay's tiny Upper East Side studio
a little more glam (and a lot more colorful!). Here are a few interiors that have been inspiring me lately:
I love the bold, saturated colors mixed with muted jewel tones. Such a fun, eclectic mix of color, print, and texture! Source: Civility Design
I love this chic interior designed by Vancouver-based interior design and home furnishings company, The Cross Design and Decor.
Such a perfect mix of sophistication with a feminine flare.

I'll definitely have to take part in some extreme thrifting and DIYing if I want our place to be anywhere close to these beautiful spaces!
Right now I'm looking for a great temporary wallpaper in a selection of prints (damask, floral, geometric designs). I've already looked into Tempaper,
but if you guys know of any others, let me know! Also, I'd love to know your favorite interior design blogs! xo Antonia

WISH YOU WERE HERE

What do you do to alleviate stress when you're not feeling your best self? A cup of calming green tea, or a maybe hot date
with two lovely gentleman, Mr. Ben and Jerry? Perhaps yoga and meditation?

Me? I beeline to Bergdorf's.

It's no secret the luxury department store is world-renowned for it's unparalleled window displays, but the
holiday-inspired fenĂȘtres are magestic dream worlds meticulously crafted by Bergdorf Goodman's expert visual team.
If you have the privilege of viewing the appropriately titled "Wish You Were Here" 2010 holiday windows, you will experience an ethereal journey
to a fantasy land that can only be achieved by the creative and imaginative fusion of fashion and art.

FAIRYTALE ENDING

Clay and I braved the lines Friday night alongside hundreds of frantic, fashionable New Yorkers, for the highly anticipated Lanvin ♥ H&M collection. Worth the wait, there was an incomparable energy as the first group of shoppers, myself included, were let inside for our 15 minutes to shop the collection.
I grabbed this red tulle dress, my first choice, and the one-shoulder pink dress (similar to the one in my previous post) which I can't wait to share with you guys! Everyone in the store was congratulating each other on their purchases and how beautiful they were going to look in Alber's affordable luxury.

I have tons of great outfit ideas for this dress, especially for winter, so anticipate more posts with this fun piece! Did you manage to get some of your fave Lanvin ♥ H&M pieces? I'm looking forward to your posts! xo Antonia

ANNA ♥ LANVIN

I predict the fashion blogging community is going to EXPLODE following the launch of Lanvin ♥ H&M tomorrow.
You can bet I'll be lining up early to get my hands on THIS amazing number! I pray to Alber Elbaz that the NYC fashionistas will
be civil when the doors open at 8:00 AM tomorrow morning and I can leave with dress in-hand (in one piece).
The collection is already selling on eBay for astronomical prices! Yikes.

While I endure the 11 hour wait, I will continue to salivate over the runway photos from Alber's Lanvin ♥ H&M
'haute couture' show in NYC last night. How amazing does my favorite person in the fashion world, Anna Dello Russo,
look in this one-shoulder candy pink dress?! Love her.

Good luck tomorrow everyone! Looking forward to seeing your Lanvin ♥ H&M posts! xo Antonia

ON THE PINK SIDE

How gorg is Viktoriya Sasonkina in this editorial for NAAG Fall 2010? I love the ethereal, ultra-femme quality of these photos and I desperately need those platforms, fur, and flared denim jeans in my life (*gasp* Yes, me! In jeans!). Also trying to resist the compelling urge to bleach my hair...someone convince me otherwise!

HALSTON AND THE CITY

I bought this gorgeous Halston Heritage cape dress to wear for my birthday last night (my amazing friends threw me a fabulous surprise party!). I don't own anything in this peach tone and the soft hue combined with the beautiful draping had me sold!
I'm obsessed with these Rachel Rachel Roy pumps. I love how heavily saturated the blue is; such a great contrast against the pastel Halston dress.

FLORES DE INVIERNO

I'm in love with this editorial from Vogue Latin America featuring the always beautiful Eva Herzigova. The rose-hued blossoms contrasted with gothic lace, leather, and ruffles creates a unequivocally provocative juxtaposition. Source: Kokobombon.

PARIS VS. NYC

I have to introduce you all to one of my new favorite blogs, Paris versus New York! I am obsessed with these adorable
illustrations and even though I am now officially a New Yorker, I couldn't possibly pick a team ;)
Aren't they the most!? All images are created by talented graphic designer Vahram Muratyan who explains the project as "A visual but friendly match between those two cities seen by a lover of Paris wandering through New York's infinite details, clichés and contradictions...". Hopefully prints are available soon! In the meantime, check out Paris versus New York: A Tally of Two Cities!

Au revoir! Kiss, kiss.

HIGH LINE

The High Line is one of my favorite places to relax and escape from the craziness of Manhattan. Situated in the Meatpacking District, The High Line is an urban park built on a former elevated freight railroad spur. The green space was beautiful in the summer, but the fall hues make The High Line absolutely stunning!
Found this awesome wall under The High Line that was just asking to be blogged!
Forever21 tuque (yes, it's a "tuque"! Google it all you non-Canadians ;) hehe) ● H&M top ● Zara skirt, belt, vest ● American Apparel tights
Clay and I stopped by the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market. Suprisingly, I left empty-handed (what?! Who am I!?!) but the freshly-squeezed lemonade was BEYOND. I'll be coming back to the HKFM even if only for this deliciously refreshing beverage!
