School Post #5: Color Trends

While researching Spring color trends, I was perplexed by this image (right) I found on WGSN of a detail from Yan Shilin's
'Empty Sofa'; the fashion forecasting site described the image's color focus as "bruised pastels on a neutral base highlighted
with toxic brights". I instantly fell in love with this palette - what a beautifully haunting interpretation of such a delicate color story. 
As I continued following this color trend, I discovered J.Crew's Spring 2011 lookbook completely embodied these hues with blush tones,
muted corals, honeysuckle, and dusty yellows. These shades were also evident on many Spring 2011 runways including Cacharel, Carven,
Antonio Berardi, and Dennis Basso. It won't be long before these tones trickle from the runways to the sidewalks!

    i knew that was jcrew right away, i invest enough money in their stores to spot it right away haha. i want that last outfit on the right! i can imagine running to class in it once winter finally finallyyyy stops clinging around

    I love this color combo! Pastels are going to be the neutrals of spring. Very cool picture of the head- I love that you got your inspiration from that.

    Great photo to use. Muted palettes have always been my favorite. The yellow shorts, pink cropped pants, and def the white dress need to find their way into my closet. :]
